Three peaks, one purpose: the Lads 3-Peak Challenge

In May 2025, fifteen of Luke’s closest friends donned their hiking books and completed the Lads 3-Peak Challenge in his memory – raising more than £26,000 (inc. Gift Aid) for vital cancer research.

Taking on the imposing trio of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within 24 hours is no small feat. It means covering 23 miles on foot, climbing more than 10,000 feet, and driving hundreds of miles in between. It’s a challenge that demands grit, teamwork, and a deep reason to keep going. For this intrepid group, that reason was Luke.

Through all weathers, rocky ascents and 4am starts, they pushed forward. The team was carrying not just supplies and tired legs, but a shared sense of purpose, loyalty, and of the kind of bond that doesn’t fade. Two years after Luke’s passing, his presence was still felt in every laugh, every blister, and every proud summit photo.

From all of Luke’s friends and family, thank you to everyone who took part, supported, or cheered from the sidelines. It was a real honour to be there and see such determination, humour, and heart in action. Luke would have been proud of every single one of you.

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, shared, or followed their journey. Your support means everything – not just to the team, but to the causes this challenge supports. It felt very fitting to take on a challenge that pushed limits – physically and mentally – in a way that reflected Luke’s life and spirit. He believed in going further, in showing up for others, and in living with purpose. The climb was all of that, and more.

Donations remain open and will go to Cancer Research UK, helping to fund research into rare cancers, which together account for more than 1 in 5 cancer cases.
