Update: They did it!
On a beautiful sunny 15th March, Sam, Ethan and Amelia completed the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon in style, and what a day it was.
Together, they raised an incredible £425.00, including a wonderfully generous donation match from the Kier Foundation, with Gift Aid bringing their total to £456.25. Every single penny goes to Cancer Research UK through the Luke Hart Foundation, and there’s still time to donate if you’d like to contribute.
A brilliant achievement, and the perfect preparation for what’s coming next. The London Marathon is just around the corner, and Sam, Ethan and Amelia will be back on the start line, this time for 26.2 miles. We couldn’t be more proud of them, and we know Luke will be with them every step of the way.

On Sunday 15th March 2026, Sam Hart, Amelia Bird and Ethan Taylor will be lacing up their trainers for the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon,
13.1 miles through the breathtaking grounds of one of England’s most historic royal palaces. It will be the furthest any of them has ever run, en-route to an even bigger challenge, April’s London Marathon.
Hampton Court Palace is a setting like no other. Steeped in centuries of history, its grounds provide a backdrop that is equal parts stunning and surreal. Not the sort of place you’d ordinarily find yourself pounding the tarmac on a Sunday morning, but then again, Sam, Ethan and Amelia aren’t doing this for the scenery. They’re doing it for Luke.
Luke Hart was Sam’s dad, a man of warmth, humour, and unshakeable strength. He faced cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the bile duct, with extraordinary courage, fighting for almost five years. He left behind a family and a community who loved him deeply, and who have never stopped finding ways to honour his memory and carry his wish forward: to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Every penny raised will go to Cancer Research UK, funding vital research into rare and hard-to-treat cancers, the kind that still need so much more attention, funding, and hope.
