On Sunday 15th March 2026, Sam Hart, Amelia Bird and Ethan Taylor will be lacing up their trainers for the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon,

13.1 miles through the breathtaking grounds of one of England’s most historic royal palaces. It will be the furthest any of them has ever run, en-route to an even bigger challenge, April’s London Marathon.

Hampton Court Palace is a setting like no other. Steeped in centuries of history, its grounds provide a backdrop that is equal parts stunning and surreal. Not the sort of place you’d ordinarily find yourself pounding the tarmac on a Sunday morning, but then again, Sam, Ethan and Amelia aren’t doing this for the scenery. They’re doing it for Luke.

Luke Hart was Sam’s dad, a man of warmth, humour, and unshakeable strength. He faced cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the bile duct, with extraordinary courage, fighting for almost five years. He left behind a family and a community who loved him deeply, and who have never stopped finding ways to honour his memory and carry his wish forward: to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Every penny raised will go to Cancer Research UK, funding vital research into rare and hard-to-treat cancers, the kind that still need so much more attention, funding, and hope.
