Running for Luke: Sam, Amelia & Ethan take on the 2026 London Marathon

On Sunday 26th April 2026, Sam Hart, Amelia Bird, and Ethan Taylor will be taking on the London Marathon, one of the most iconic and emotionally charged events in the world of sport, in memory of Luke Hart.

They’ll be running through 26.2 miles of London’s streets, cheered on by thousands, past landmarks like Tower Bridge and Big Ben, soaking in the electric atmosphere that makes this event more than just a race. Since it began in 1981, the London Marathon has raised over £1 billion for charity. Sam, Amelia and Ethan are proud to now be part of that story.

For Luke’s son Sam, this challenge carries a lot of weight. It’s for his dad. For the man who never gave in, who faced cancer with remarkable strength, humour, and dignity.

Amelia and Ethan, both close to the Hart family, are running with that same fire. Their lives, like so many, have been deeply affected by cancer. But their bond with Luke and the family gives this challenge its heart. Whether it’s Amelia’s relentless positivity or Ethan’s thoughtful tribute to the man who taught him so much, each step of this marathon will be powered by love, loss, but most importantly, hope.

They’re aiming to raise £7,500 for Cancer Research UK, through the Luke Hart Foundation, helping fund research into rare and hard-to-treat cancers.
