Update: Challenge complete, and over £25,000 raised in Luke’s memory!
We are absolutely thrilled to share that the team has successfully completed the grueling 3-Peak Challenge – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within just 24 hours.
Their achievement is extraordinary. It took physical strength, mental determination, and a huge amount of heart – the very qualities Luke was known and loved for. Along the way, they faced a challenge that pushes even the most experienced hikers to their limits.
But they kept going.
Thanks to the generosity and support of so many, the challenge has now raised an astonishing £21,574.00 plus £4,513.25 in Gift Aid – taking the total to more than £26,000 for Cancer Research UK, supporting vital research into rare cancers. Safe to say, an incredible effort by all involved.
This is a phenomenal achievement, and we know Luke would be so proud – not just of the fundraising total, but of the spirit in which this challenge was taken on. It was about more than miles climbed or targets hit. It was about love, remembrance, and showing up for something bigger than yourself.
To every single person who donated, shared, or cheered them on from afar – thank you. You’ve helped make something truly special happen.
Luke’s legacy burns bright in these moments of courage, commitment, and connection – and we couldn’t be more proud.
This May, a pioneering group of Luke’s friends will take on the 3-Peak Challenge in his memory, pushing themselves physically and mentally to honor his adventurous spirit. Luke was someone who always believed in pushing limits, showing kindness, and making a difference.
Tackling the highest peaks in the UK – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – in just 24 hours, is a wonderful way to celebrate Luke’s life while raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
We’re wishing Mark and the 3-Peaks crew the best of luck!

My Story
In Memory of Our Dear Friend, Luke Hart: The 3-Peak Challenge In May this year, a group of some of Luke’s closest friends are coming together to take on the 3-Peak Challenge in his memory, raising funds for Rare Cancers. Luke’s friendship meant the world to each of us and with this challenge we collectively hope to remember him in this special way, whilst raising money for this great cause. We aim to climb the highest peaks in the UK—Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon—over the course of 24 hours.
Why the 3-Peak Challenge?
Luke was always someone who believed in pushing limits, both in his personal life and in the way he cared for others. It seems fitting that we challenge ourselves physically and mentally in a way that reflects his spirit. By taking on this difficult task, we hope to raise awareness for cancer, a disease that affects so many, and honor Luke’s memory in a way that he would have been proud of.
How You Can Help
We’re asking for your support to help us reach our fundraising goal. Any contribution – no matter the size – will go directly to supporting Rare Cancers. Together Rare Cancers make up more than 20% of all concer cases. Help fund cancer research UK to look for ways to improve our understanding of these diseases to save more lives. Thank you for helping us keep Luke’s legacy alive through action, love, and support.
Together, we can make a difference.
